Assistant Communications Secretary Mocha Uson came to the defense of President Duterte’s granddaughter Isabelle Duterte after netizens slammed her predebut photo shoot inside the Malacañang Palace.

Through a Facebook post, Uson said that to her, the Presidential daughter did no wrong in the act.

Uson added that it was Isabelle's privilege as the granddaughter of the president, through father Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, to have her photo taken inside the President's Palace.

She also responded to observations that the photo shoot was done in bad taste in light of Mr. Duterte’s claim that he leads a simple life.

Bigyan naman natin ng konting pag unawa," she said.

Uson added that Isabelle is only "proud of her lolo".

Uson, who got appointed for being a die-hard Duterte supporter, also said anybody who enters Malacañang for the first time will surely have his or her picture taken there.

However, netizens have pointed out a photo where the President's coat of arms were featured.

They cited Executive Order No. 310 s. 2004 of the Philippine Constitution, which states the permitted and prohibited use of the symbol.

“Except as otherwise provided by law or Presidential issuance, the Coat-of-Arms, Seal, and Flag of the President of the Philippines or of the Vice President of the Philippines shall be exclusively used to represent the President of the Philippines or the Vice President of the Philippines, respectively.”

Uson however, stood firm on her ground.

Kung suporter ka ng Pangulo at alam mo ang daming nagawa ng Pangulo para sa bayan mo can’t you just understand his happiness to give this chance to his granddaughter", the "DDS" member said.
