President Duterte, hinimok ang mga Pilipino na tularan ang pambansang bayani na si Jose Rizal

Hinimok ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga Pilipino na tularan at sundan ang mga layunin ni Jose Rizal sa ika-121 anibersaryo ng kamatayan ng pambansang bayani.

Sinabi ni Duterte na ang mga Pilipino ay dapat magpatuloy sa pakikibaka ni Rizal laban sa mga social ills upang makabuo ng isang mas mahusay na Pilipinas.



“As an author and as a scholar, he denounced the corruption, greed, and other social ills that up to this day continue to plague our society. Even in death, he imparted upon us his aspirations for a nation that is free from the scourge of injustice, tyranny, and suffering,” sinabi ni Pres. Duterte.

“Let us reflect on his patriotism as we strive to continue his work of building a more united, peaceful and prosperous Philippines,” idinagdag pa ng Pangulo.



Pinangunahan ni Duterte ang pagdiriwang ng kamatayan ni Jose Rizal sa Rizal Park nitong Sabado (Disyembre 30) at sinamahan ni Vice President Leni Robredo, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana at Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines na si Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

Hindi nakadalo si Robredo sa seremonya noong nakaraang taon matapos na mailipat sa Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.

Dumalo rin sa pagdiriwang ang dating pangulo at ngayon ay si Mayor Joseph Estrada at Special Assistant to the President na si Bong Go.
