The 16 months thereafter the objective end has been achieved and it played at the global market together with such framings as strong, independent, outlier, populist (or nationalist?), different mould, etc. being drowned out by all the negatives. That's the problem when you do not defend well and you let the critics frame you, or worst, you do not take care of image and reputation of the leader.
Yes, it has been said, "be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." How do you make character shine more?
For the Comms Group, how do you position against this tag? That's an opportunity for you to tell the story of PH and its leader without contrasting him from the previous but positioning what he has done in the last 16 months.
And seriously, enough of the mouth, more of the acts. Enough of the wild, wild west and more of Tatay Digong. Reign it in. Stick to message. There was discipline in the campaign. Embrace it again. Go back to the story how he won, paint the canvass again of his vision of PH and get the whip cracking for the politics of change.
Urgent to such is passing the reform agenda on politics: 1) pass the anti-dynasty bill; 2) pass political party reform; 3) pass the party-list reform; 4) Modernizing COMELEC and 5) FOI. We cannot bring the political skeletons to federalism.
Duterte is not a populist. He is a nationalist and that is clear as day.
PRRD should seriously consider building his own political party, one that reflects his vision and programs. One that will help him at the community level.
An organization for the votes is critical for the midterm, if we veer away from the politics of "what are we in power for?", you would need that than Smartmatic.
Inclusive growth should be the battle cry. Necessarily, food and shelter are important after all, education is now free and universal health is guaranteed. Focus should be on agriculture and rural Ph. What should be the long term plan or exit plan for CCT? Could basic income be the answer? View the first more than the trees.
Front line services will have to be sustained. Local Governments should not sleep but must join PRRD in his zeal of changing the lots of Filipinos. Sustain the 16 months and gain more beachhead as PRRD tackles the hard issues of the day.
Finally, give OFWs the sword and the armor to win the battle abroad. You do not like PR? you do not like persuasion and influence then move the OFWs. They are our modern day heroes. They are the dragon slayers against the demon. Empower them.
