Risa Hontiveros on Tuesday encouraged her fellow lawmakers to conduct an investigation on the raid done by PNP that resulted to the death of several individuals including Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr.

Hontiveros labelled the police operation as 'state-sanctioned massacre' due to serious accusations against the Ozamiz police.

“I call on my fellow senators to uncover the truth behind this bloody incident. It is vital that there be a fair and independent investigation,” she said.

Following these remarks of Hontiveros, Abe Purugganan, a veteran soldier and a scout ranger wrote an open letter as a response to Hontiveros' statement.

Purugganan said that conducting a senate investigation about the matter is a waste of time and taxpayers money. "It is just a forum for you and your band of liberals to grandstand, to create confusion and chaos, and to propagandize your political agenda," Purugganan added.

Do not be presumptuous, Madame Senator. If you think that there are irregularities, let the Internal Affairs Service of the police do that. Trying to investigate every police operation against druglords is a clear manifestation of trying to prevent the police from doing their job, which obviously favors drug syndicates.

Calling for a senate investigation is a waste of time and taxpayers money. It is just a forum for you and your band of liberals to grandstand, to create confusion and chaos, and to propagandize your political agenda. We have our courts and appropriate bodies to do that. Do not make our Senate a kangaroo court.

If you are invoking independence and fairness, honestly, their is no such thing in our current system with your kind of destructive politics. You have already prejudged and presumed Espenido and his raiding party as guilty.

Your insinuation that the Ozamiz raid was a state sanctioned massacre is again presumptuous and pure speculation. How about calling first an investigation of the state sanctioned illegal drug addiction and proliferation, and the establishment of narco politics by the previous administration where you were part of it. There is a strong indication that they have violated our laws and perverted our systems for these things to happen. Invite former Pres Aquino and his cabinet members to uncover all their crimes. Invite all your fellow senators to uncovered the truth. Keep in mind that many lives and families have been destroyed because of these.
