Allegedly, Atty. Ortega hit a 14-year-old student after the latter played on school’s basketball court without asking for permission.
The entire 2-minute video was recorded by the victim using his cellphone.
The video was uploaded on We Love USANT (University of Saint Anthony) Facebook page. The video was captioned as "kitang-kita po sa video na si Atty. Ortega ay baliw na sa kanyang kapangyarihan at kayamanan. Walang awa na binanatan ang 14 anyos na bata habang siya ay pinagmumura."
The video depicts an angry old man (identified by the uploader and commenters as Atty. Santiago D. Ortega Jr) berating and occasionally hitting a student. Most of the language used in the video is Iriga’s dialect but our sources narrated that Ortega was angry at the student because “his” basketball court was used without his permission, something that the student repeatedly denied. The attorney then supposedly kicked the student.
Just recently, Robredo received an honorary doctorate degree in Humanities from the University of Saint Anthony in Iriga City, Camarines Sur last April 19.
