The degree is traditionally given by UP to heads of the state since the time of President Manuel Quezon.
According to Adolfo Mortera, the same degree was accepted by former President Corazon Aquino, yet she ruined the economy and land reform for Hacieda Luisita farmers.
"BS Aquino also received that degree and it never improved his IQ and EQ. On the contrary, it earned him 1 million units in practicum on How To Be A Pork Barrel King and How To Impeach A Chief Justice who ruled against his family hacienda," Mortera said.
He added that Duterte is a 24x7 president who has been achieving gains in peace and order, economy, efficiency in the bureaucracy, eliminating graft and corruption through sheer hard work and political will.
He said the degree won't add value to Duterte's EQ.
According to him, unlike Duterte's predecessor, he has already shown compassion for the people.
"Only the vanishing yellows among the UP Board of Regents, the Aquino- brainwashed academic communities, and the LP destabilizers will benefit as they will capitalize on this issue to create noise and gain media mileage for their evil agenda,"
He said that the warmth and acceptance of the Filipino is all the degrees the President needs.
