Filipinos with family members abroad are always expecting chocolates as these are cheaper when bought outside of the country.
Cruz-Angeles said that the fact that Duterte gave chocolates away to children of runaway Overseas Filipino Workers made the act even sweeter .
"At malalim ito. Ayon sa Republic Act 7356, ang Pambansang Komisyon ng Sining at Kultura ay nagaabiso sa pangulo ukol sa governance. Ito ay dahil ang gobyerno ay reflective ng ating kasaysayan at kultura. Ang lider na nakakaintindi ng ating pagka Pinoy, ang nagiging effective," Chu said.
"That is why the president can speak the way he does and know that the vast majority of Pinoys will accept his language, his manner of speech, pati pagmumura nya. Kasi kilala nya tayo," she added.
She said that this is the reason why Duterte's policies are acceptable, he understands his countrymen.
